The Garden Isle

Being one of the United Kingdom's most southerly regions, the Isle of Wight tends to benefit from a milder climate with more sunshine than most other parts of the UK. In fact, the Isle of Wight is one of the sunniest places in England, enjoying a weekly average of 37 hours of sun, compared to the national average of 29.

The nearby town of Ventnor is said to be one of the warmest places in the UK with its own micro-climate which enables the local Botanic Garden to grow sub-tropical plants that cannot be seen anywhere else in the country. Wandering along the coast on a sunny day, observing palm trees and wall lizards, you’ll be forgiven for thinking you’re in the Mediterranean rather than on our Garden Isle.
