Winners of a gold Green Tourism Award!
We are super thrilled to have been awarded a gold from Visit Isle of Wight's Green Tourism Awards this year.
This accolade recognises businesses like Nettlecombe Farm that have demonstrated exceptional dedication to reducing their carbon footprint, advocating sustainable travel, and spearheading green initiatives, supporting the Island's ambitious goal of achieving Net Carbon Zero.
As a business committed to preserving the natural beauty of the Isle of Wight and promoting responsible tourism, the Farm actively contributes to the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status of the region. By fostering green, sustainable, and responsible tourism practices, we play a vital role in safeguarding the Island's unique biodiversity and environmental heritage.
At the heart of Nettlecombe Farm's success are its numerous initiatives undertaken by the staff and the family who run the farm. An important aspect is delivering environmental education, which involves welcoming over 25 schools annually, providing a valuable learning experience on sustainable farming and nature conservation. Additionally, the farm promotes sustainable travel by offering an electric vehicle charging point, cycle paths, walking maps, and engaging in sustainable travel schemes.
Whilst Nettlecombe has been in the Morris family for generations, we know that we are only guardians of this special piece of Isle of Wight countryside. Everything we do goes towards protecting and enhancing this beautiful corner of the Island for future generations and we’re super proud of our team who have gone above and beyond in implementing changes and doing things more environmentally year on year.
