August saw the launch of the Angling Trust ‘Get Fishing’ program here at Nettlecombe Farm.
30 participants attended the 2 day courses learning how to tackle up, cast off, maintain their equipment and most importantly catch lots of fish safely.
The courses were aimed at beginners of all ages who were keen to learn the sport.
Chris Silverstone is the new fishing coach here at Nettlecombe Farm and he ran the sessions for us. Chris was absolutely overwhelmed with their success as were the participants themselves.
At the end of the course, the anglers all received a completed 3 stage award certifying them as ‘New Anglers’ with all of the skills and know how to take up the sport for the future.
We are delighted to have been able to offer this opportunity for beginners to take up fishing and carry this sport through future generations and look forward to Chris running more sessions here in the future.
