As a resident at Nettlecombe Farm, we offer you an amazing and unique chance to get involved in feeding time at the farm. This is completely free - and exclusive - for guests staying with us.
Taking part in a farm feeding session provides a great opportunity for children to experience life on a farm, learn about wildlife, where their food comes from and how the land is managed and most importantly, it means that they can they can really get close to the animals for stroking and hugs. Some of our sheep were hand reared as lambs and like nothing better than a cuddle and all of our animals love human interaction, even Edna the emu. It's a wonderful way to make very special memories that children will carry with them.
Fun for all the family
Kids (and big kids!) are welcome to take part in the morning feeding round and try your hand at being a farmer. The animals you will meet on the tour are not just traditional farm animals but also include:
- Alpacas
- Lambs (in spring time)
- Chickens (including collecting eggs)
- Guinea Fowl
- Geese
- Pig
- Emu
- Donkeys
- Goats
- Rabbits
- Reindeer
- Shetland Pony

The feeding tours take place Monday – Saturday starting at 08:30am all year round.

The holiday was made by Lucy who took the children (1 and 3- with Granny and Grandpa) around the farm feeding the animals every morning. She even gave them rides in the wheelbarrow as they are so small. Children loved her and couldn't wait to race out the door every morning.
