Nettlecombe Farm holidays and fishing lakes, Isle of Wight

Falling back into Autumn

Well, the Isle of Wight, what a summer it was! The weather was just perfect for long walks, trips to the beach, plenty of ice creams, swimming and picnics.

There were also some great festivals that we enjoyed, from an all-star Isle of Wight Festival, carnival season and Rhythmtree, to the May walking festival, Cowes Week and Walk the Wight. All of these and many more will be returning in 2023 and there really is something for everyone.

Meanwhile, here on the Farm, our feeding sessions proved as popular as ever and we had new additions to the Nettlecombe family: Fudge, Lucky and Apollo the sheep, and Edna the emu was, as always, her usual self. Over on the fishing lake in August we saw a flurry of beginners learning to fish safely and properly with our Angling Trust 'Get Fishing Awards Program' and visitors caught some whoppers throughout the summer have a look at our
catch of the day photos

We are open throughout the year with availability to come and stay with us still in September right through. Autumn is a beautiful season here on the Isle of Wight, the surf is good, the fish are still biting in our lakes, parking spaces are easier to find and the sea still at a lovely swimming temperature in September. Have a look at our late availability page .

We are taking bookings for 2023 holidays with Easter already very busy, only one cottage left for May half term and some availability for summer holidays, but we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment! Or how about Christmas on the farm with Comet and Dancer our resident reindeer…

Don’t forget that we offer discounted ferry fares when you book a stay with us.
