Deliveries to your Holiday Door
When you go on holiday, the last thing you want to do is worry about shopping or having bring a carload of groceries with you and so we’ve come up with some great ideas for deliveries to your door so that you don’t have to.
Here on the Isle of Wight we’re blessed with an abundance of local produce and independent shops, restaurants and takeaways that can cater to your every need, leaving you to just enjoy your time at Nettlecombe. So, sit back and order in advance…
Stock up on essentials from Norris Family Grocers in Niton which are available for delivery Monday to Friday. Established in 1887, this stalwart shop can provide all of your basics but also locally produced food and drinks including Isle of Wight tomatoes, honey, cheese and mushrooms as well as the always essential Mermaid Gin. You can also order wine from the Island’s very own Winebulance also based in Niton and developed by Wight and Wessex Wines. They have an extensive wine list to choose from and deliver Islandwide. And if you like your veg straight from field to door then order a box from Living Larder who have seasonal vegetable and fruit available throughout the year.
Fancy a takeaway? Then we’ve got some suggestions to tickle your tastebuds and please everyone from the youngest upwards. Friday nights see the Jolly Fryer come to Niton Green with delicious fish and chips. Simply phone with your order and it’ll be ready for collection at your requested time. Or there’s pizza at Joe’s Bar which is quirkily at Niton Post Office – call for a takeaway or have a look at their meal deal menus. A little further afield in Ventnor but available for delivery is Chinese food from The Mandarin with an extensive menu of East Asian inspired modern British food and there’s also the Smoking Lobster who offer a sushi and dumpling box to take away as well as an Asian flavoured meal deal. And there’s The Bonchurch Inn which offers takeaway and delivery and who doesn’t need to try their ‘Life Changing Lasagne’! Or if you’d like a fine dining experience you could pre order a box from Chef Robert Thompson’s UBChef - fabulous food that’s all prepared and just needs reheating and plating up and the website has four week’s advance menus to tempt you.
The choices are many and various, but rest assured that if you don’t want to shop or cook then you don’t have to, and you’ll be supporting some of our favourite local independent businesses
